People Over Profits

Recently, NPHI partnered with Emergence to publish a report titled “People Over Profits.”  The report highlighted many significant findings that have the potential to guide serious illness providers through the challenges of the future.  We unpack and discuss a great quote from the report's Executive Summary: "Community-based mission-driven organizations can offer a new narrative of what healthcare can and should be.”  The report included a section on the identified top concerns about aging, which are critical if serious illness providers want to understand the evolving landscape, desires, and needs of those we serve.  In the last portion of the episode, Carole and Bill directly speak to hospice and palliative care leaders and their advice to them, given the findings of this groundbreaking work.
