Darrell is the Senior Vice President of Community Banking Group.  He has been involved in the banking industry since 1980 with North Carolina Nation Bank (now Bank of America), First Union Bank (now Wells Fargo), First Citizens Bank, BB&T (now Truist), and for the last 10 years with First Horizon or a predecessor.  

While his career has been in Hickory, NC since 1986, he grew up in Henderson NC.  He attended UNC-CH, earning a degree in Business Administration.

Darrell married Patty Johnson in 1988 and they have two adult children (Jordan and Jay).  His daughter, Jordan, and her husband Nathan recently gave them their first grandchild, Theo.
