SMS HOSPICE CLINICAL OPERATIONS COACH

Ashley Espy, RN, BSN, is a Hospice Clinical Operations Coach with Teleios Collaborative Network. She started her nursing career 15 years ago and was called into hospice just 3 years into nursing, knowing it was such a special gift for patients and families. Ashley has served as a Hospice Case Manager, Clinical Director, Administrator, and Executive Director. She is passionate about quality hospice care, serving others, problem solving, and is skilled at understanding the business aspect of hospice.

In 2014, she assisted with turning the hospice organization from operating in the red to operating with a positive margin within the first year. She helped expand the agency and oversee teams that started in 1 office with an Average Daily Census (ADC) of 30 to 3 offices with over 100 ADC in 2 short years.

In 2018, the hospice agency went through a Merger and Acquisition (M&A) with a hospital-based home health and hospice that grew to four offices and over 300 ADC.

Ashley truly believes that if you have a quality hospice program with quality people, growth will happen. She looks up to Andrew Reed and Barbara Karnes as hospice leaders. When she is not working you will find her kayaking, hiking, or camping. She also enjoys volunteering as an assistant soccer coach in her hometown. Ashley is also an Army veteran and credits her early leadership and attention to detail skills to that experience.
