Angela has spent the last 19 years in the healthcare industry, with focus on legal and risk management issues. In addition to working for a hospital system and a senior living company, Angela provided risk and contract management to Hosparus, a nonprofit hospice based in Louisville, KY.
Angela earned a Bachelor of Arts in Paralegal Studies and Government from Morehead State University in 1994. She worked as a paralegal for two small law firms before working in-house in the healthcare industry. In 2012, she became a Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Manager and belongs to the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM), as well as its Kentucky chapter.
In addition to drafting and negotiating contracts, facilitating a variety of governance projects and providing guidance on operational and other areas of risk, Angela has worked extensively with insurance brokers and carriers to maximize the property and casualty programs for the various providers for whom she has worked. She is experienced in risk transfer, as well as claim prevention and mitigation.
Born and raised in the Appalachians of Eastern Kentucky, Angela moved to Louisville in 2000, where she now works and lives with her husband, Jeremy, son, Jacob, and two cats, Felix and Chloe.
